Ghosting-Mechanical

Problem:

Roller settings are faulty. Rollers are poor or incorrect diameter.

Solution:

Check roller settings and diameter especially form rollers to the plate.

Layout of work may be poor.

Solution:

Whenever possible, make take-off bars to compensate for lack of ink needs.

Problem:

Ink is too transparent.

Solution:

More opaque inks can sometimes help mask ghosting caused by job layout; consult with your ink maker.

Problem:

Embossed blanket.

Solution:

Deglaze or replace blanket as indicated.
