Linting and Picking

Problem:

Ink is too tacky for the stock being run.

Solution:

Reduce tack only enough to eliminate the problem.

Problem:

Stock has insufficient lint or pick resistance.

Solution:

Change stock. Install a brush or vacuum type paper cleaner, or pre-coat on spare first unit.

Problem:

Ink is poorly ground.

Solution:

Consult your Sun Chemical representative.

Problem:

Ink/water balance is improper.

Solution:

Adjust ink/water balance.

Problem:

Blanket is too tacky.

Solution:

Treat blanket surface to reduce tack. Change to a less tacky blanket. Check blanket wash solution.

Problem:

Blanket is improperly packed.

Solution:

Correct packing (underpacking as well as overpacking causes picking).
