Dark or Dirty Print Color

Problem:

Ink viscosity is too high.

Solution:

Lower ink viscosity.

Problem:

Ink colorant concentration too high for press or job configuration.

Solution:

Add extender to the ink. Reduce ink film thickness.

Problem:

Ink film too thick.

Solution:

Reduce ink film thickness by lowering ink viscosity, increasing ink metering effectiveness, decreasing machine speed or decreasing anilox volume.

Problem:

Ink contamination from prior color.

Solution:

Thoroughly clean press station and replace ink.
